INDIAN CRICKET- WHERE IS IT GOING? -Is BCCI a Club of the Elite?.
Indian cricket is in the cross roads now.The glorious time of " you scratch my back,
I will scratch your back" is going to be over. This is not only the question of
Mr.N.Srinivasan, President,BCCI resigning on properiety due to his son-in -law
Mr.Gurunathan Meiyappan is alleged to have been involved in betting scam, but also the steps BCCI takes to stem the rot which has set in. What has happened to so called legends of cricket and where are they?. Is the money they get makes them keep quite or they have no
opinion of their own?.In that case they are no legends, but men of clay.Mr.Sharad Pawar
former Chief of ICC & former President of BCCI says that this would not have happened
if he was the Chief of BCCI. He should spell out clearly what he would have done then
and what he will do now to restore the credibility of the game?.His suggestion to handover
the matter to Ministry of Home affairs for a probe is a welcome move.
This is the time to scrap IPL to save the game of cricket which was the gentleman's game
till the arrival of IPL.The game of cricket and the people who administer the game of
cricket including the so called legends of cricket are silenced by the money the IPL
generate and are not bothered about the common people who are the backbone of
cricket. The moot question is "Is the BCCI the private club of the elite"?.
